TSU football player killed in hit-and-run, authorities say [Video]

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) – A football player at Tennessee State University was killed in a hit-and-run early Sunday morning, according to authorities.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said 20-year-old Chazan Page was hit by a driver while crossing Gallatin Pike. The university’s athletics department confirmed Page died after he was struck.

“He helped bring out the best in others with his outstanding leadership on and off the field, positive attitude, and genuine care for the people around him. It is extremely difficult to lose a member of our athletics family, and we mourn the loss of Chazan,” TSU Director of Athletics Dr. Mikki Allen said in a statement. “Chazan Page will be deeply missed by our Big Blue family, as he was a phenomenal young man and leader who made everyone around him better. My thoughts and prayers are with our football student-athletes, coaches, families and friends.”
