Necessity is the mother of invention, and wars usually lead to situations where innovative approaches to complex problems arise. A shining example of this is the Ukrainian Air Force resorting to use of iPads, or their counterparts, in the cockpit to work with Western air-to-ground missile systems.

It is important to note Ukraine’s arsenal had been dominated by Soviet or Russian weapons. Historically, the country’s armed forces relied mostly on weapons of Russian origin to meet its security needs.
