FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — In recent weeks, Columbia University has seen a lot of students protesting the war in Gaza.

Pro-Palestinian protesters have clashed with college administrators at Columbia University in New York.

According to the Associated Press, protesters called for the university to stop conducting business with Israel or any other companies that support the war between Israel and Hamas.

University of Arkansas graduate Natalie Demaree is getting her graduate degree in journalism at Columbia and has been covering the encampment and protests for the past weeks as a journalist.

On May 1, NYPD officers cleared out an administration building being occupied by protesters.

Demaree says roughly 109 students were arrested following the police evacuation.
