USC hosts celebration for womens basketball team after championship win [Video]

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – The University of South Carolina (USC) announced the welcome home celebration for their women’s basketball team.

The Gamecocks beat the Iowa Hawkeyes 87-75 for their third-ever national championship.

The welcome home celebration will be held at Colonial Life Arena on Monday. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and the celebration will start at 2 p.m.

Fans should enter through the main entrance and sit in sections 101-104 and 115-118.

A replay of the game will be shown before the team’s arrival and the team DJ will help “keep the energy high,” USC confirmed.

Selected concession stands will also be open.

Free parking will be in lots A and B, but the university warned spaces could be tight with classes in session.

Championship parade

The city of Columbia announced they will host a parade on Sunday, April 14, at 2 p.m.

The parade will start on the 1700 block of Main and Laurel streets.
