TYLER, Texas — UT Tyler medical school students will get to become dermatologists thanks to a new partnership.
U.S. Dermatology Partners and UT Tyler School of Medicine have come together to create a Department of Dermatology. The department will set standards for dermatologic care and education on a regional and national level.
According to a news release, the Department of Dermatology will launch educational programs for medical students at the university within the next year and hire a chair of the department and a dermatology program director with plans to apply to become an accredited dermatology residency program. Students will receive comprehensive training and hands-on experience in dermatology.
