BUCKEYE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) — Buckeye’s own Verrado High School received national recognition for its student’s hard work.
For the first time, high school senior Michael Myers was recognized by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for his acting debut in the student short film “Project-182.”
“It’s really exciting. I mean it was just a really good story, and I was super excited to be one of the leads for any film in general. It was first film to be on,” Myers said.
Inspired by then-high school senior Ben Doerksen, the film tells the wild story of a high schooler who builds a robot to be his friend.
“I get a lot of my inspiration for my films actually from different songs and music. So, the song ‘I want to be like you’ from The Jungle Book is actually what inspired me initially to make this film,” Doerksen said.
