Vigil dedicated to victims of unsolved cases [Video]

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Parents of Murdered Children Southern Arizona Chapter (POMC-SAZ) hosted a candlelight vigil to commemorate the start of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.

While this vigil is dedicated to victims of unsolved cases, they are also still acknowledging all victims of crime, and providing a safe space for survivors, both new and old.

“I think that when a new survivor sees us, that have been through it, it kind of gives them hope. Because initially, you don’t think you’re able to survive something so tragic,” said Liz Martinez, chapter leader of POMC-SAZ.

This week is a national, annual celebration, and it’s the fourth year that POMC-SAZ has existed, the chapter is made up of survivors, whose goal is to support other survivors, with events such as the vigil.
