GRAND BLANC TWP, Mich. (WJRT)- Grand Blanc Township is looking cleaner after a large community effort on Saturday.
The Township’s second annual “Grand Blanc Cleanup” brought out more than a hundred volunteers.
5-year-olds to folks in their early 80s donned their high-viz vests to bag up trash around about the community.
Younger volunteers handled parks and business lots while older volunteers targeted highway ramps full of fast food trash and car parts.
“I’m kinda the one that, if I see something, even on a daily walk, I’m picking up something if I see it. [My husband] kinda gets after me sometimes. It’s just to make our community better,” said volunteer Rita Kamienniecki.
Township Supervisor Scott Bennett told ABC12 the event was a big success and that the Township Board intends to bring it back again for 2025.
