NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A Magazine Street ice cream shop owner says he opened his cash register drawer twice this week to find the money was stolen.

Parish Parlor’s security cameras recorded portions of both of the incidents, with timestamps of 4:15 Friday morning and 6:00 Sunday morning.

“Please be patient and understanding while we navigate some delayed openings and unexpected closures,” the owner wrote on social media. “We are reopening now, and your business is appreciated more than ever.”

The owner says in addition to breaking into the store after hours and cleaning out the cash register, the thief also swiped the shop’s laptop and safe.

New Orleans police say they are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact the NOPD or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
