Whiteville Fire Department seeks grant for device that will help save time in emergencies [Video]

WHITEVILLE, N.C. (WECT) – When it comes to emergencies, every second counts that is why the Columbus County Fire Department is working to ensure it’s doing all it can to help people as quickly as possible.

The Columbus County Fire Department has applied for a grant that can make a big difference in life-or-death situations.

The FEMA AFG Fire Prevention and Safety grant will give the City of Whiteville $17,692.58 to buy Knox Homeboxes and smoke detectors.

Whiteville Fire Cheif David Yergeau says Knox Homeboxes can make a big difference when responding to emergencies.
