Crews said they will be burning roughly 12 acres of vegetation in the East Black Oak Ridge Conservation area on Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to the city of Oak Ridge, the Tennessee Division of Forestry is working with the Department of Energy to burn approximately 12 acres of vegetation in the East Black Oak Ridge Conservation Area.

The city said people who live near Hunley Road, which is north of the Oak Ridge Turnpike and Horizon Center, might see or smell smoke. The city a part of the North Boundary Greenway will be closed to recreational use during the burning.

Crews with the Tennessee Division of Forestry will receive support from personnel the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Oak Ridge National Lab’s Nature Resource Management Team, according to the city.
