BAKERSFIELD, Calif., (KGET)– Kern County’s District Attorney’s Assistant, Andrea Kohler, announced the 10th Annual Victims’ Rights March and Community Resource event in downtown Bakersfield at 17 News Sunrise.

Initially established in 1981 by President Ronald Regan, National Crime Victim’ Rights Week is a time to honor survivors and victims of crime as well as acknowledging the support system provided by organizations and public servants who continuously pursue justice.

Kohler believes the march’ significance, now including the first resource fair in connection with the march, will let victims know they’re experiences are recognized and comprehended.

“This year is particularly helpful that we are out there because this year it’s ‘what can we do to help, what can you do to help as a community’,” says Kohler.
