2 kids shot during domestic incident, Atlanta police say [Video]

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Two children are in the hospital after what police are calling a “domestic incident” that took place Sunday night in southwest Atlanta.

Police say two boys, 11 and 14, were injured in a shooting at a home on Omaha Road.

After the shooting, someone took one of the boys to a nearby gas station to safety, police said. Police responded at 10:29 p.m., two minutes after dispatchers received a 911 call. When they arrived, officers found the wounded boy. The investigation then led police to the Omaha Road home where they located another boy who also had been shot.

Both boys were in stable condition when paramedics took them to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egelston.

Police said James Kimbrough was arrested and charged with reckless conduct, two counts of cruelty to children, and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon.
