4-H Rifle and Pistol Tournament brings in students from 13 counties [Video]

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Texoma saw a serious downpour overnight and throughout the day, but that didn’t stop students from having their 4-H Rifle and Pistol Tournament at the Northwest Texas Field and Stream Shooting Range.

The tournament only saw a slight delay for some lighting, but after that students ages eight to 18 got back to getting their guns ready to compete.

“These kids start at age eight, and if you watch them at age eight they’re safer than most people that are 40 years old on a firing line,” Northwest Texas Field and Stream Director, Roger Kroes said.

There are several categories to compete in during the tournament, Kroes said it takes over five hours for everything to wrap up.
