WASHINGTON, USA — This Earth Day, you can check out any Washington state park or recreation area for free.
The holiday is one of the 12 days a year when a Discover Pass is not required to park on any land managed by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission, or the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW).
In 2024, the Discover Pass Free Days are:
Washington has more than 140 state parks, historic sites, trails, marine parks and properties that you can explore. This includes over 123,000 acres of parks and properties, and 422 miles of trails, according to the Washington Trails Association.
