Enloe’s new cancer center finishes design phase | News [Video]

Enloe has been fundraising for over two years.

CHICO, Calif. – Enloe’s new comprehensive cancer center along Bruce Road in Chico has finished the design phase and is now moving toward construction.

So what do they need to do next?

Enloe still needs permits from the city to start construction. Vice President of the Enloe Health Foundation, Jolene Francis, said cancer rates and death rates in Northern California are the highest in the state.

Right now, Francis said the need for more space will help them take care of more patients. The project relocates the current cancer center into a much larger building.

“We see far too many people in that small space, which constrains our ability to see everyone as quickly as we like to and to take care of everyone right here locally,” Francis said. “It’s a great expense for patients who have to travel out of the area for cancer care.
