MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A group of former gang leaders from California came to the Shelby County Jail to talk to inmates about conflict resolution and traumas.
This is part of a rehabilitation program called Inside Circle.
An ex-North Memphis gang program who went through the program said it helped him learn to find peace.
Danyell Miller was just released from Shelby County Jail earlier in March.
He said at 29 years old his illegal hustle mentality landed him behind bars on a 12-year sentence for multiple identity theft, fraud, and gun charges.
“But now I don’t have to do that because of the position and situation I’m in. I’m out of jail, have a job, I’m doing good. I don’t have no kids so all my money and everything it go towards me,” said Miller.
