Longtime Florence Police Chief announces retirement [Video]

Tyler has been in law enforcement for 29 years and Florence’s chief for 12 years.

FLORENCE, Ala. — It’s the end on an era for Florence. Police Chief Ron Tyler, who has served in that position for 12 years. announced his retirement.

In an announcement on Facebook, Tyler said that while his retirement won’t be official until after January 1, 2025, his last day as chief will be June 28, 2024. After that, he will be on approved leave, and says he will be handling some medical issues. He spoke about his law enforcement team and how honored his is to have served his city:
