SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -If you are a college hockey fan get ready for Thursday at The Denny when the Gophers are one of 4 teams trying to advance to the frozen Four, led by Luverne native Jaxon Nelson.
The Minnesota captain has finished his college career strong, and he loves playing in front of his home fans who should show up big time in Sioux Falls when they play Omaha.
Gophers Captain Jaxon Nelson says, “Yeah it’s like a 6th man out there. There’s a lot of energy in the building and every time you score the place erupts and it’s a lot of fun. So if the crows keep coming we’ll keep playing.”
They’ve been coming to watch Nelson play since he was a pup. Jaxon lit up the scoreboard at a record-setting pace at Luverne before playing his final 2 years with the Stampede.
