More than 4K expected to participate in Walk MS: Chicago at Soldier Field to support those living with multiple sclerosis [Video]

CHICAGO (WLS) — On Sunday, April 28, more than 4,000 people are expected to rally at Soldier Field for Walk MS: Chicago, locally presented by Northwestern Medicine.

Walk MS will showcase why it’s important for people with MS to be surrounded by the care and understanding of their support system.

Hosted by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, attendees arriving on the day of Walk MS can expect energy and excitement that’s palpable because they are part of the nationwide Walk MS community, moving together toward a better future for everyone affected by MS.

“We are so excited to share the new, energizing experience at Walk MS Chicago,” says Nancy McInroy, president of the National MS Society’s Illinois Market. “We hope everyone will join us and be a part of something powerful, that’s going to change the world for people with MS because a cure is on the line.”

BC, BU hockey teams depart Boston for Frozen Four [Video]

The city of Boston will be well-represented at this year's NCAA Men's Division I Frozen Four, as the Boston College and Boston University ice hockey teams will be competing for a national championship.The No. 1 BC Eagles and the No. 2 BU Terriers both departed for Saint Paul, Minnesota, on Tuesday ahead of Thursday's national semifinal games at the Xcel Energy Center, home of the NHL's Minnesota Wild."We're anxious to get there, and we know it's going to be awesome," said Will Smith, a freshman forward on the Boston College hockey team. "There's a lot of support, and we can't wait.""I think it will be pandemonium on our campus, their campus," said Scott Cousins, a freshman student at Boston University. "The T will probably have to get shut down."Both teams had simultaneous send-offs, which happened about 10 minutes away from each other."They're just a great team, and I think this is their year," said BU season ticket holder Jill Papkee."It's crazy. I mean, you can see all the energy is great, and we can't wait," Smith said.To reach the Frozen Four, the Terriers defeated the University of Minnesota while the Eagles took down the reigning national champions, Quinnipiac University.Boston College head coach Greg Brown said the entire season has been filled with tough matchups, including four previous meetings with Boston University."You have to beat a lot of good teams to get to this point," Brown said. "The guys have put in a great effort this year, so hopefully we can go there and play our best game so far."Fans in Boston are hoping the national championship game will be the fifth matchup of the season between BC and BU, a rivalry known as the Battle of Commonwealth Avenue."I'm feeling good. Last year, we obviously fell a little short. But this season, the rivalry with BC has been intense," Cousins said. "I'm excited to hopefully see them in the finally and hopefully take it home this year."Boston College won three of the four games against Boston University, including in the Hockey East Tournament championship game on March 23.The Terriers, however, are making their second straight Frozen Four appearance. The last time the Eagles had made the Frozen Four was in 2016.Boston University will face the University of Denver, the No. 3 seed, in the first national semifinal at 5 p.m. Thursday.Boston College is then scheduled to face the University of Michigan at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the second semifinal.Related story:
