President Biden on Friday sternly warned Iran not to attack Israel.

“How imminent do you think an attack on Israel is from Iran?” a reporter asked after Biden gave virtual remarks from the White House to the National Action Network convention.

“I don’t want to give secure information, but my expectation is sooner than later,” Biden responded.

When asked what his message to Iran is right now, the president said, “Don’t.”

Biden was also asked if he believed American troops were at risk.

“We are devoted to the defense of Israel,” Biden said. “We will support Israel. We will help defend Israel. And Iran will not succeed.”

Biden’s comments come as the U.S. has been on alert for a significant Iranian retaliatory attack on Israel in recent days as fears of a wider regional war continue to grow.
