Today’s Town by Town saw us visit a Chicopee ribbon cutting, a Springfield networking event, and a Northampton Arbor Day competition!

Concerns are growing about the spread of the avian, or bird, flu after a growing number of dairy cows are contracting the virus. It’s definitely something local dairy farmers are aware of as this latest strain of the bird flu is showing up in more and more states.

Protocols for handling a potentially sick and harmful animal are once again being questioned in Springfield.

Frustrations continued on Thursday at the Springfield School Committee meeting. Although the current and controversial search for the next superintendent was not on the agenda, tensions rose between committee members.
