TSU names finalists to become universitys next president [Video]

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Tennessee State University named three finalists to become the university’s next president.

The three candidates will visit the campus Wednesday through Friday to do interviews and open forums with faculty and staff, students and the public.

The finalists are Dr. Charles Gibbs, Chief Executive Officer, National One Hundred Black Men of America, Inc.; Dr. William E. Hudson, Vice President for Student Affairs, Florida A&M University; and Dr. Michael Torrence, President, Motlow State Community College.

Current TSU President Dr. Glenda Glover announced she would retire at the end of the current academic year.

The on-campus open forums will allow the TSU community an opportunity to meet the candidates and learn about their individual visions, perspectives and qualifications to serve as TSU’s next president.
