ASHLAND, Ore. — Verizon will host a public meeting at Southern Oregon University on Thursday evening to share the details of a proposed project to build a new wireless communications facility.
The facility would be built on top of the science building at SOU. A new wireless communication facility would increase cell reception in the Rogue Valley — but some community members have concerns.
“We want the community to come out and express their opposition to the cell tower,” said Kelly Marcotulli, executive director and co-founder of Oregon For Safer Technology. “We want people to know this is not necessary and it’s a threat to public health.”
